Some claim that the Trinitarian Concept of God is not logical. Yet all agree that God is not limited to our human ideas. In fact, God lives outside of our physical dimensions. Both Christians and Muslims state that God is unlimited. He created our world and its dimensions. So how does our world help us understand a Triune God?
Two-Dimensional and Three-Dimensional Worlds
Can “normal” two-dimensional math apply to a three-dimensional world? In two-dimensional math, there is only area. There is no volume.
If the world were two-dimensional with length and height but no depth, it would be impossible for a person to imagine someone behind or in front of him. A person could only be above or below him.
God is Outside of Our Three-dimensional World
Muslims claim that it is impossible to have one God in three persons. “… So believe in God and His messengers and do not speak of a ‘Trinity’ …” (Qs 4:171). Muslims live in a three-dimensional world. But the Bible teaches that God lives outside this world. “…his understanding no one can fathom” (Isaiah 40:28). So, it must be possible for God to be three in one.
No One Can Fully Comprehend the Trinity!
We agree that this argument does not prove the Trinity. However, it does show that the Trinitarian concept is logical. If God lives outside our three-dimensional world, He has to reveal Himself to us by revelation. He has to show us what it is like outside of our dimension.
We Are Three-Dimensional Creatures
How would a three-dimensional person explain his world to a two-dimensional person? He could explain length and height but depth would be incomprehensible. The only way a two-dimensional person could accept that explanation would be by faith.
In the same way, Christians realize they can’t fully comprehend the Trinity. This is because we are locked into a three-dimensional world. But Christians must believe, by faith, that God is Trinity because He reveals himself as Trinity in the Book of God, the Bible.
Isa Came to Our Three-Dimensional World!
Isa Al-Masih, the Kalimat Allah, and the second person in the Trinity, came into our three-dimensional world. He became like us in order to save us from the sin that keeps us from God! Those who believe in Him will be saved from their sin. But those who don’t believe in Him will be under God’s judgment. We must trust in Him to have your sins removed!
Isa clearly said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (Injil, John 14:6).
