Jesus – A Sign To Men
“And (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign to men…” (Qs 19:21)
How is Jesus a sign to men? Signs are important. Without signs people are lost and finding their way is almost impossible. We put signs on our highways, we name or number our streets and our homes have signs so friends can find us. Signs also warn us of dangers ahead. They may even point out a bump in the road or a construction crew at work.
Isas’ Miraculous Birth Was a Sign to Men
Hz. Isa Mesih’s birth through the Virgin Mary was a special sign. The prophet Isaiah wrote, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and you will call him Immanuel” (Prophet Isaiah 7:14). Virgins do not bear sons. It never happens and if it does, it is a miracle. God was giving advance notice that someone special would be born. He would in fact be called a name that tells us who He is. He would be known as Immanuel, which means “God is with us.”
The Miracles Isa Mesih Performed Were a Sign to Men
Isa Mesih is a sign of God’s love for the people He created. The apostle John tells us, “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” (Injil, John 3:17). How does Isa save the world? While Jesus was on earth He saved many sick people by healing them physically. He saved blind people from their darkness by giving them sight. He saved deaf people from their deafness by restoring their hearing. These were all clear signs telling people Isa really was Immanuel.
The Greatest Sign to Men Was Isa Dying for a Sinful World
The greatest Sign of God’s love was that Isa died for our sins. He did not deserve to die, because He was “a sinless Son” (Qs 19:19). We are the guilty ones. We have all done things that displease God. We are all sinners. Only Isa was without sin. Still Isa Himself said, “I lay down my life for my sheep only to take it up again” (Injil, John 10:17). He died taking upon Himself your sin and my sin. He came to save the world. And He rose again just as He promised.
Hz. Isa Mesih Wants to Save You from Your Sins and the Punishment of Hell
Truly Isa is a sign to Men. He stills saves people from their sin and guilt by forgiving them and setting them free from bondage. He saves them from the punishment of Hell. He wants to do that for you. He takes away the burden of sin and replaces it with the joy of a loving relationship with Himself. So how can this happen? It is as simple today as it was when Isa was on earth.
Repent and Seek Salvation in Isa Mesih
Isa preached, “Repent and believe the good news” (Injil, Mark 1:15). You repent when you turn away from your sin and from trying to save yourself. You believe by asking Isa to save you and forgive you. Then Isa will be more than just a sign to men, He will be your personal Savior that gives you eternal life. You will be one of His sheep, and He will be the Good Shepherd who walks with you every day.
