Muslims often claim: “the word Trinity is not in the Bible!” If this is true, how can Christians believe in the doctrine of the Trinity? Can we believe something not explicitly taught in the Word of Allah?
The Word Trinity is Not in the Bible
It’s true the word Trinity is nowhere in the Bible. When I first heard that fact, I was a little surprised and started researching. Surely, a teaching as foundational as the Trinity would be in the Word of Allah, right?
Omnipotence, Tawhid (Unity), and the Shahada
There are other examples of doctrines in which people believe that are not found in their respective holy books.
- Christians believe in Allah’s omnipotence (all powerful) and omniscience (all knowing). Although these two words are not in the Bible, the ideas are clear. “. . . God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything” (Injil, 1 John 3:20). “. . . I am the LORD, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?” (Book of the Prophets, Jeremiah 32:27).
- The entire Islamic creed is based on the doctrine of Tawhid (unity of Allah). That teaching is essential to the Islamic faith. But, in the Arabic Quran, the word Tawhid is nowhere to be found!
Even though the word Tawhid isn’t there, the concept is clear – there is no god but Allah. “. . . There is no deity except Me, so worship Me” (Qs 21:25). “. . . that your god is but one God . . .” (Qs 41:6). No one can claim the teaching of the unity of Allah is not part of Islam, correct? - The Shahada is also incredibly important for Muslims. A person becomes a Muslim if he/she sincerely says the shahada. Parents teach their children the shahada from a young age. However, the Shahada isn’t in the Quran! Even so, every Muslim believes the shahada is true and the way to become a Muslim.

The Word of God Teaches the Trinity
After doing research, I came to agree with the religious scholars. A concept can be evident and true even if that specific word isn’t used in the Word of God.
If you read the Torah, Zabur, and Injil from the beginning to the end, the concept of the Trinity is very clear. Isa Al-Masih is divine. He healed sick people, raised people from the dead, forgave sins, and claimed He was one with Allah.
“The Father and I are one . . . We’re stoning you not for any good work, but for blasphemy! You . . . claim to be God” (Injil, John 10:30, 33).
Isa proved His divinity while living on earth. Since He is God, He is willing and able to forgive your sins. Contact us if you want Isa to forgive all of your sins!
